Clean and good location, room a little cold.
A very special Hotel
We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at The Alexandra Hotel. We were made to feel very much at ease, nothing was a problem. Winston the manager wasn’t there, but ‘Einstein’ was, he couldn’t have done any more to make us feel so welcome, a very special man. Our room was clean and the beds were very comfortable with a partial sea view.We were served very good breakfasts with plenty of coffee.The Alexandra is very well placed with easy access to the seafront, The Wish Tower, The Towner art gallery and plenty of restaurants and cafes. The parking was easy and we had a reduced fee permit from the hotel. We would love to return,
Weekend in Eastbourne
The hotel was lovely and very clean. Very small liftWinston was extremely helpful and kindEastbourne is a lovely place to visit,we had a beautiful view of the seafrontI would stay there again
It was ok
The welcome and the breakfast was good. The rooms need more a check after cleaning. The recepionist was nice and friendly. And the other Gentleman was really friendly.
Nice hotel
Very slow check inNice clean room and en-suite, rather small but had everything we needed. Sufficient toiletries, tea, coffee sugar, etc.A Saturday night £166 for a double room, I would have expected breakfast included at this price

As above thought it was very expensive,only problem we went to watch the air show and sitting in the front of hotel was lovely and perfect view until they had a DJ very noisy and lots of people who weren’t staying at hotel just coming to take over we had to move as we countnt here anything about the show we payed a lot of money and only went for the air show so didn’t expect a D J and all his friends to take over,didn’t think it was fair to customers who couldn’t get a seat and paid to stay at hotel such a shame I won’t b staying again but lovely hotel

Very clean and very welcoming.Breakfast is amazing and very good value as you can eat and top up drinks as much as you like . Staff are very helpful they can't do enough for you . Rooms spot on and such lovely body products.Highly recommend this hotel.
Very nice hotel
Our room had an amazing sea view, was sp very clean and very comfortable. The hotel is extremely nice and a really good place to stay and great value. Excellent location on sea front and we had a hotel parking permit for parking outside which was great.
Nice but small
The hotel was well placed on the front. Very nicely decorated and nice carpets etc. Reception person very welcoming. Issued a parking permit and we went to our room. Comfortable double bed and very nice but small shower room. Unfortunately, the room was very small and only had the bed. No chairs or stool. To watch the TV we had to lie on the bed! Continental breakfast was good. We would stay there again if we had a bigger room.

Superb
Me and my wife stayed here and had a great night's sleep. Very clean and decorated to a very high standard. Staff are very helpful and friendly. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay anywhere else when visiting Eastbourne.

Smart hotel with a couple of niggles
When I booked this, I emailed to say that I could not see any prices on their website for breakfast. They replied and said they don't serve breakfast. This was disappointing. When I arrived to check in, they asked if I was room only or eating there. Obviously room only as no breakfast was available! This niggled.The room was a decent size and appeared newly decorated. We had a sea view which was nice. However, given that it was a "Superior Double Room with Sea View" I would have expected at least a biscuit with the tea and coffee. I would have also liked a little mini fridge. I would say that this made the room quite basic. The major issue we had was with the shower. The water was scalding hot and the temperature control knob would not allow any cold water through. We had to rinse our hair in the hand basin as the shower water was just too hot to bear on our heads. This is actually quite dangerous. A shower mat on the floor outside the shower to avoid slipping would also be appreciated. I visit this location every year but have booked elsewhere for next year in preference to this hotel, given the lack of any food availability, the basic nature of a fairly pricey room (£188 for 1 night) and the shower issue.

We had to open the restaurant for breakfast for the convenience and at the request of our guests and that's why breakfast is served only on request and at the time of arrival we inform our guests of the availability of this service if they are interested. We are sorry to note about your decision not to use us again but we wish you well.
Stayed 5 nights during tennis week
My son and I had two rooms on the third floor during tennis week.The water pressure in both our rooms was so weak that we could not shower. Only a trickle of water came out of them so we had a wash from our basins each day. This is not the standard I expected. I paid over £1k for 5 nights B&B in a double room for single occupancy and expected to be able to have a hot shower.

Service great however Room 306 shower uncontrollable and was much too hot to shower. Pity because all good otherwise. Would have been at least 4 star but as I had to leave without a shower down to 2 star rating
Great location near the tennis
Had a great one night's stay at the Alexandre hotel, room only but lots of places nearby to eat and drink and on the seafront. 5 mins walk to tennis and 12 mins yo railway station. My one reservation was the shower was a dribble but a great room otherwise

Dreadful experience! Eastbourne's Faulty Towers
Reserving a single room (sea view) for 1 night during the International Tennis Tournament I was hoping to watch some of the tennis on TV. I tried to check-in just after 2pm. But was told No! guests cannot check-in before 3pm and must leave by 10am! I was pretty furious, as they hadn't even asked my name. So how did they know my room wasn't ready?But no good as response was:No room was available until 3pm.So I asked for the TV to be turned on to the tennis in the - empty - lounge. No I was told! 'Public' ie me - not allowed to watch TV!! Pleeeese I begged (British player was on) No - guests don't like the TV on. In an empty lounge. This had become a farce ...And farce continued: teeny tiny room (max 2m wide). Burning hot shower (no cold water regulation). Horrible soft & lumpy mattress sloped to one side. Flat cheap pillows. Enormous heavy drapes hid the corner 'sea view' and the room was stifling all night. All this for nearly €150.

This review speaks volumes of you. Thank you for your time. It is our companypolicy to check guests infrom 3pm to 11pm due to health and safety precautions as wires and linen is lying all around. We do provide the facility for keeping luggage at the reception. andalso provide a parking permit if needed BUTwealso do provide an early check in service on request with a small fee which many guests avail of. The Lounge was not hoovered when you came at 2pm to check in. However, we did check you in at 2.30pm as you werescreaming and shouting at the receptionist we aresorry that one of ourguests had to intervene to stop you fromscreamingfollowed by your abusive rude attitude which was witnessed by two more guests. this platform is for our guests to express theiropinion which willhelp us improve and give better service. This however was not your intention.
Excellent Restored Hotel
We had a fabulous, newly refurbished room. We had a wonderful view of the beach and pier. Also good breakfast. Very close to Devonshire Park for the tennis and to local restaurants. Couldn’t have asked for more.
Disappointing
Room size okay. But shower room was cupboard sized, the basin too small with nowhere to put our bathroom stuff, No shaver socket and limited light for shaving. The shower was so small with taps that gave us cold water and then so hot we couldn't shower and we couldn't get it medium temperature. They said they fixed it but we had same problem next time we tried to shower.The room had a picture above the beds which was actually growing black mould which we asked them to remove.The main room light was hanging by the 3 wires exposed with no ceiling rose..potentially could be unsafe. 2 hangers on wall and showerroom door was unusable.Beds clean and okay firmness.The large window needed net curtain as the beds were close and usable, and the view overlooked views of flatroofed shops. Not worth a 4 star rating. 3 at the most. Locatiohood for tennis week and the seafront.

Room small, stuffy, toilet seat not attached to toiletkept falling off.Toilet window didn't open.Sower drainage wouldn't drain, so water over spilling out onto bathroom floor.Not worth the cost.

I understand this hotel was completely refurbished about two years agoThe hotel is well-positoned right on the seafrontThe service is excellent - they cannot do too much for you.The cooked breakfast is so filling you hardly need to eat again for the rest of the dayI have recommended this hotel to my friends who also come to Eastbourne to watch the tennis

We will not be staying again.
Bit disappointing!
When we arrived (group of 4 ladies) 2 out of the 3 rooms hadnt been cleaned and we were sent to the rooms to discover this, we didnt arrive at the hotel until 5.30pm and had to wait for the rooms to be cleaned and this delayed our plans for the evening

Excellent venue and serviceRoom excellentLovely breakfast and service was excellent.The only issue of concern whilst eating breakfast a Couple went from the lift area to the Reception, walking with a dog on a leadThe concern being I am allergic to dog hair and this would be a concern if we were given a room that a dog had stayed in.Thank you to all the Staff that we crossed paths with they are a credit to your Hotel.

Great location, nice hotel, room was comfortable but the shower was ridiculous, ended up using the basin to wash, shame because everything else was fine.

Super sea views and staff
The staff are excellent and always offer such a warm welcome.Excellent location on the seafront for walking into town or up to the Meads and onto the Downs.Rooms are tasteful, cleaned and comfortable offering great sea views.One of my fav Eastbourne hotels.

Alexandra hotel was a pleasant stay . Very helpful staff . Couldn’t do enough to help . The manager even moved his car for me to park because the front was shut due to a carnival going on . Very nice people

Basic hotel with no facilities
My first room had no hot water, but the very helpful receptionist moved me to another room.The room itself was well equipped, but small (it was a single). Judging by the masking tape, which was still sticking to the skirting board, the room had been recently decorated. The bed was very uncomfortable and there was no restaurant for dinner or indeed breakfast.

Clean and very quiet
Very happy with our stay. However, we would have been disappointed if we had wished to use the bar or have breakfast.Neither were fully open. Indeed, it seemed that there is one young woman running the whole place - she was great. This is not, I think, the fault of the owners but because they cannot get the staff to work in the hotel - probably an issue for many. What a shame. And with the Brighton Uni students leaving forever this year I imagine the situation can only get worse.

Disappointed
This is my first time I'm doing a negative review. It was disappointing since we arrived.Check-in was at 3 pm, we arrived at 2:30 pm and they told us to come back at 3 pm because the room was not ready.Once we went into the room, we found: dead fly on the carpet, window glass dirty, stained and ripped blanket, the pressure of the water was ridiculous, I couldn't have the shower.Paper walls, you could hear literally every single word said in the next room.The rest of the services are totally absent.Lift 1x1m didn't work in the evening, and we have to use the stairs from the third floor.No bar service, no breakfast available.Still don't understand what I paid for that money.

Dear Pasquale, Our check-in time is at 3pm and we do our best to keep the rooms ready for the new arrivals so we could not check you inat 2.30pm.we hooverand try tokeep the rooms as clean as possible for the new arrivals. This hotel does only duvets and not blankets and fresh sheets are put for every arrival. The pressure ofthe waterwe will look into. The lift is new andin working condition. Comfy and convenient

mostly good
The hotel is right on the sea front and we we able to park ok outside. our room was quite small but comfortable and nicely furnished with a side view of the sea. the bed was very comfortable and it was warm and clean. We were in the Second floor. there is no breakfast offered at the hotel currently but we knew that when booking. We did have an issue with the water- the hot water took 15 minutes to come through to the shower or the basin and the shower was really a dribble - the staff were very nice and very accommodating but had no answer for the water issue they just said it was due to us being on the second floor and others may be using the water. I think this issue needs addressing but apart from that it was fine. i would have given 4 stars but for the plumbing issues.

I would never stay here again
I changed my booking over a week before arrival to add one extra night and was due to arrive a day early. I called the hotel the day before my arrival to check that they had definitely booked me in for the extra night which they confirmed and yet when I arrived the manager who had previously co firmed the booking on 2 occasions still said he was not expecting me a day early. When I arrived the hotel was all closed and no reply from the door bell, when the manager finaly surfaced to let me in he left me struggling with my luggage and let the 2 doors slam in my face. If this wasn't bad enough he had no recollection of speaking to me twice to confirm my booking of an extra day. After a lot of to-ing and fro-ing I threatened to leave and find another hotel at which he offered to upgrade my room to a seaview, so I stayed. The room was lovely although the corridors were being painted and the place stank of gloss paint, which was very bad for my asthma. That night I went to bed and had to sleep on pillows that smelled of other peoples sweat, which was disgusting but it was too late to call reception. The following morning I took a shower, during which the water became so hot it was scalding. I was covered in soap and had no choice but to rinse myself but the tap wouldn't turn and I couldn't turn down the heat. I also couldn't switch the tap off as it was broken. When I was dressed andcready O complained to reception who moved me to another room. The second room was fine for the last night, but the stress and the inconvenience was unacceptable. I asked forsome sort of refund or compensation for the first night but nothing was given. The management was absolutely terrible they had no concern for their guest. The whole stay was absolutely awfull. WARNING - NEVER EVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! I would lije to give tgem no stars rating but it's not an option. Look out Fawlty Towers you've got competition.

Hotel ok
Hotel is clean and central. Rooms newly decorated and nice sea view. Unfortunately no breakfast at the hotel and the night of our stay there was a private function and you were unable to use the bar and the disco was very loud and we could hear it on the2nd floor and it went on until the early hours.
“A warm friendly environment”
The hotel in general was a lovely clean, comfortable setting, with lovely interior. The Sir at reception upon arrival was very welcoming with a kind, caring nature as a person and went out of his way to check myself and daughter in earlier to our room.Look forward to coming back to stay again, but with a sea view to experience that little bit extra, surroundings around the hotel couldn’t be any more convenient, with lots to do, with the beach, town and restaurants being close together.Thankyou for a lovely stay.Sarah-Jayne

Very welcoming - My friend & I had 2 single rooms & we were upgraded to a sea view room which was a pleasant surprise. The hotel had recently been refurbished & was exceptionally clean. The staff were polite & helpful. I would stay again without hesitation
Wonderful experience
Just returned from a 3 night stay. Room was clean bright and airey. The staff are AMAZING 🤩 Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great every morning. The whole atmosphere was calm and welcoming with beautiful easy listening music.I cannot wait to go back. Well done to Monica and Winston. I love you both and Thank You to you and your staff for making me feel so welcome. I'll be back again soon
Lovely hotel right at the sea
It's a lovely small and cozy hotel right at the sealine. The staff is very friendly!

Staff were very friendly. The rooms had just been refurbished and well presented, although a bit on the small size. The outside was being decorated when we visited with a good clean result.Our only issue was breakfast which wasn't great and needs consideration. On the first day there was no fresh fruit as advertised. My fried breakfast was poor. The fried eggs (asked for 1 got 2) were completely overcooked and dried up. The bacon was tough, mushrooms nearly all stalks, tomatoes watery. My wife's scrambled egg wasn't seasoned at all and hash brownies very greasy. On the second day things were much improved, but on the third day my bacon was completely cold (taken back and reheated, but quite undercooked and no browning). Not sure why, but most of the toast was only toasted on one side? Another small issue is that some items aren't left out, so you have to catch the waitress and ask for these (butter and tomatoe sauce for example). This just creates extra work etc.The breakfast was the only issue and overall we had a good time.

Just spent 3 wonderful days at the Alexandra Hotel.We really enjoyed our stay in room 208 with sea view. The room was tastefully decorated and it was evident that our room was newly refurbished.We enjoyedwakingup to the beautiful sight and sound of the sea.Our stay was enhanced by the attitude of the staff, in particular Monica and the lovely Winston. He couldn't do enough for us. Genuinely lovely people. Winston is an asset to the Hotel. We definitely will stay there again when we next visitEastbourne.

Fantastic Staff. Monica was so helpful with Everything!!! Fabulous Room & Views.Breakfast was good. But will probably book without breakfast next time. Produce not the best and time was limited, we are up very early all week and would have loved it to be until 10.30.Had room made up which was appalling. Wish we hadn’t bothered. We have stayed in many rooms and when it’s been made up it’s like the first time you walk in, not here !!!Sad that these members of staff met the team down.Checkout 11am would be nice.Putting these few things correct would make it outstanding!!Will definitely be back.
Short break in Hotel Alexandra.
We found this attractive building converted into a hotel,comfortable and bright. The room we stayed in has been freshly decorated to high standard and has an excellent frontal sea view.The staff was very helpfull in every aspect.
Comfortable room with excellent breakfast
The single room with sea view was comfortable and adequate. The bro was excellent both in choice and quality.Unfortunately, there was no one around when checking out to receive my suggestion in two areas that need addressing in the room. The shower heat control was very still and did not accommodate a cooker shower. The toilet slipped abd is not suitable for the main unit.Overall, the stay was good and reasonably priced.

GREAT LOCATION, EXCELLENT BREAKFAST
The hotel is in a great location.We had room 309, seaview, not over large, but more than adequate with a wonderful view of the sea.Obviously recently refurbished to a high spec.Pleasant dining room where they served a very varied breakfast menu.No complaints.
Great location and comfy bed
Thank you to all the staff at the hotel who made this a wonderful stay. We had a delicious breakfast every morning of fruit, cereal and a made to order hot breakfast too.I very much enjoyed having a drink in the comfy bar area and looking out at the sea and the palm trees. This was a great location on the seafront. There are numberof excellent restaurants which arefive minutes walk from the hotel, so it was a win-win all round. Highly recommended hotel.
Great location, helpful staff - shame about the shower
Great location - room with a sea view looking out over the beach and very convenient for theatres, ary gallery and restaurants. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Room was pretty comfortable. But the water pressure was very low at times (we were on the third floor) so not possible yo have a decent shower. The breakfast was rather expensive compared to what is available in local cafés.

The Alexandra Hotel is well located, an easy 15mins walk from the train station in Eastbourne. It’s seafront location is stunning and right next to it there’s a charming street full of lovely cafes, shops and restaurants. The hotel itself is comfortable, the staff is super nice and the rooms comfortable. The breakfast was good. Overall, it was nice.

A great short but sweet stay
Although only a one night stay, the staff were very welcoming. Helped me mend my watch, let my friends join me for an evening drink. Also accommodated my friend in the morning making her feel welcomed into the hotel organised taxis for us. Was a wonderful stay. Many thanks.
Summer break
I was a few days here - unfortunately not the best sunny days - that one would have liked. But the hotel was near the beach, the coastline, and the major attractions and town center.I enjoyed my morning breakfast and I appreciate the kindness and assistance of the hotel receptionist. As I worked myself in hospitality, I believe it is very important to have excellent staff members taking care of their customers.

We found the hotel very much as advertised online. Room was a little tight for our luggage, but everything was very clean and comfortable. Good bed. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was very good.

Nice single room with decent sea view, I think bed although single could be a bit bigger and there was only one double socket without usb ports. So 2 points for TV, kettle, lamp and charger.. but other than that nice clean room and decent breakfast. Extra thanks to Yara who was a very helpful young lady who was a very helpful.
Quick 2 nights away in lovely eastbourne
First visit for us. nice decor and very clean. Shower was slippery and room was slighlty small for us but all okay.could have upgraded.

From the moment I rang up as had a issue booking online Monika did everything possible to sort it for me.It was my partner's 40th birthday and she even decorated the room and left a few gifts in the room too which was so nice and we really appreciated that , I don't often leave reviews but these little touches made for the perfect stay and I can't thank the staff and in particular Monika enough for everything she did for us.The hotel is in a great location and our room was perfect for what we needed and anytime we stay in Eastbourne again I won't think twice about booking here again.Thanks again

We were greeted with a lovely friendly lady,easy book in and parkin permit.Very helpful,polite staff at front desk and breakfast room nothing was too much troubleRoom was great,ground floor at the rear of building.Comfortable clean room.What let you down was service of the room.lovely for the first night however,room service was shoddy,tea and coffee facilities we not topped up leaving is to drink black coffee in the morning,the beds were roughly made up and we had to ask for more loo roll!I will assume the bathroom was cleaned as the cleaning spray was left in there.lovrly weekend in Eastbourne,wonderful hotel shame it was a little overshadowed by this!

The customer service and friendliness of the hotel were excellent. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was sorted out and well explained. The room was good with some nice touches, but felt a little cramped and the bathroom could have been cleaner.Our main difficulty was with the breakfast. We asked for an 8am start which the staff happily sorted out even though it is 8.30am. However on the day we waited around a long time to order and also a long time to receive the breakfast. I think the staff did their best but they seemed quite disorganised. Unfortunately the food was pretty basic with nothing standing out at all, and the quality of the ingredients did not seem commensurate with the price charged.So overall a quite reasonable stay but the breakfast let it down.

Since we were last there, the hotel has been totally refurbished to a high standard.After a warm and friendly welcome, we enjoyed a comfortable stay in a relaxed atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble and GM Monika deserves a special mention for making us feel at home and going the extra mile.

We were warmly welcomed at the reception and was very helpful. It was a very pleasant day and the room was clean and spacious. The walk to the Rothesay WTA took us about 10 minutes and was lined up with restaurants. Excellent.

Breakfast is basic but nice enough. Very quiet but I did stay on a Monday night. I'd originally booked elsewhere but was transferred here for overbooking reasons and I'm not disappointed. Thank you for a lovely overnight stay.

Delightful hotel
Having been made aware the Hotel had undergone recent refurbishment, I took notice of the lovely decor of the entrance and the exterior paint colour. I very much enjoyed my stay at The Alexandra. My room suited me very well for a two night stay. Slight issue with temperature of water to shower, but a helpful member of the reception team advised me and all was well! The parking permits proved to be realistic in price and very useful. Thank you

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The room was nice with a lovely sea view, but the toilet and shower room were extremely small. Very convenient for the Congress Theatre.

The receptionist, Monika, could not have been more helpful.Recommended a restaurant, but when it was full, she found another restaurant, checked with us on our timings, and then made us a reservation.Definitely beyond normal service.Thank you.Apart from that, the room was goo, great view of the sea - shame about the weather!

We decided to have a weekend away and stayed in this lovely hotel right on the coast. The superior double room was nicely decorated to a high standard had wonderful views of the sea and the superb Eastbourne pier. Monica the receptionist was very effective and very good customer service skills . Overall a very nice clean hotel and has been tastefully decorated throughout the hotel. We will be back.Thank you

The hotel has recently been refurbed and our room was very clean and very comfortable.Monica on Reception was very efficient with registration and helpful throughout our stay. Only negative was that house keeping didn't change our towels or make up the beds after the first night of a two night stay.

The room is comfortable and clean. Nothing is missing: perfectly functioning TV, hair-drier, coffee and tea facilities. The bathroom is compact but new and efficient. The bed is very comfortable and , to top it all, the window overlooks the seafront.

Winston has been 10/10 he is always there at any given time ready to help and give the extra service to make your stay even that much more enjoyable. His colleagues are amazing also and Veronica I believe her name is is very good as well!!! Excellent Hotel
The Alexandra is an excellent hotel on Eastbourne sea front. I was made very welcome by the friendly professional staff who were excellent throughout my stay. The hotel is very clean, comfortable and stylish with a modern lift to all floors. My room and en-suite bathroom were like new and the rooms heating was very good (I visited in December). I would not hesitate to stay here again and thoroughly recommend the Alexandra to all.
A nice small single room
I was transferred here from another due to an issue with their room. No problems on check in. The single room that I had was small but comfortable, with a great sea view. I didn't use any of the other amenities but it was perfect as a bed for the night.

Lovely big, quiet room with great sea view. Friendly, helpful staff. Good location, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Promenade just outside with access to beautiful walk up the cliffs. Overall, a great stay at a reasonable price. Fantastic!

Staff were friendly and very helpful especially with our disabilities however could do with non slippery steps and maybe a ramp or lift for someone who has mobility issues, no food facilities currently at hotel which was a shame but there are cafe and restaurants down the road
Pleasant place to stay
I stayed in the Alexandra Hotel in September 2023. I enjoyed my stay. There was a minor problem with the shower but the staff, especially the Manager were excellent. They were considerate and understanding and went out of their way to make me comfortable. The renovations have made it a pleasant place to stay. The Seaview was especially brilliant for me. If you are considering a short visit to enjoy the beautiful Eastbourne seaside, I would recommend staying at this hotel.
Very Good hotel experience in Eastbourne
I stayed in Alexandra for almost two weeks for work. The first week, I stayed with my partner in a double room and the next week I moved to the single room. and I am very pleased with both rooms. It has a very nice view of the beach, with newly renovated room and bathroom, tall windows and high ceiling. All the staff are very caring and helpful.

I've been using before the view hotel and I got really frustrated with their bedding... luckily I've found soo much better place called ALEXANDRA HOTEL . it has a better view a better room and facility. And a smart TV HUH.thats a huge plus for any of u out there!And yes the receptionist RICO he's 100 % impressive host. 5 star 🌟 🤩

We booked the Alexandra Hotel because it was very close to the theatre and was in easy walk to the theatre.We stayed in the Superior Double room with sea views.I must say we were given a very warm welcome by the reception and explained everything we wanted to know and then we went up to our Room.Once inside, the room and sea views were stunning.Nice comfortable bed with a very nice En suite.It looks like the whole hotel has undergone a complete refurbishment and it all looks amazing.The bar was excellent and refurbish and the hotel staff were extremely efficient and helpful.Keep up the good work and we will definitely use this hotel again especially during the Devonshire park Tennis week next year.David and Rosemary SmithHorsham

Excellent in some areas, but really let down in others that are easy to fix
Fantastic staff; very polite and attentive.Renovated stylish room, that had been upgraded for free to beach-facing.Incredibly small - had to reverse into the toilet; not a problem for a single guy of average build. I don't actually view this as a negative,but a larger person would struggle. No bath, but I didn't want one anyway.Very comfy bed.Free shampoo/soap was poor - enough for one wash, and it's not appropriate to go find more early the next day.Water pressure was very poor to the extent showering and washing off said free low quality soap was a challenge, really let down what was a good stay.

Surprising gem
My partner and I booked this very much at the last minute -- and kinda by mistake (careful what you click for!). However, it was a delightful little hotel, recently refurbished and well situated. Our only grip was the water pressure in the shower, which was a bit tricky. Great value and friendly staff.
Quiet and friendly hotel on the seafront
The staff at the Alexandra are very welcoming, pleasant, and professional. My room was spotlessly clean, and looked right onto the beach.It was a classic single room, so it was quite small, but that was fine for me; and it had clearly been recently renovated, so everything was very nice and fresh.

Ideally situated on the quieter end of Eastbourne sea front opposite beach and promenade only a short walk from the foot of Beachy Head. My wife and I had only rented ‘room only’ for three nights. Clean and comfortable
The room was newly refurbished and was clean and comfortable. The reception staff very welcomjng and helpful. However, there was no kitchen as yet, plenty of places to eat inbthe evenjng but very limited on a Sunday morning. We had an issue with shower temperature it was hot or hotter, as we only stayed one night not able to comment on whether it was sorted.
Great place to stay
My little room on the third floor had wonderful sea view, the bedsheets were spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable. The floors were a bit squeaky, but that didn't make my stay at Alexandra Hotel less enjoyable. The gentleman at the reception gave me useful information on places worth visiting and was most welcoming and kind. I'll definitely return and stay longer next time.

Late booking to the Alexandra Hotel and the Receptionist who took the booking was very good.She selected for us a nice large twin bedroom with stunning views of the sea and Eastbourne pier.The room was a little bit tired and needs updating but was very clean.Would not hesitate to stay here again.Ideal for 1 or 2 night stays when visiting Eastbourne.

We were given small but clean rooms with the features and decor of times long past. Friendly staff welcomed us and ushered us through the traditional breakfast in the following morning. We were quite happy given the moderate price and excellent location.

Eastbourne Tennis accommodation
Ideal hotel for the tennis and right on the sea front. Room comfortable and has sea view as advertised which is lovely and relaxing to be able to hear the sound of waves. Breakfast tasty and filling. Alexandra Hotel Review
The staff at the Alexandra Hotel in Eastbourne were very good in making sure that we managed to book our room when we wanted it. It was slightly short notice and for a busy Tennis tournament week. Our stay was very pleasant and the staff could not have been more helpful.The room and rate were good but wish the breakfast was included in the basic rate.

We were made very welcome throughout our stay here, the hotel itself seemed very tired and our bed wasn't that comfortable and the room was cold during the night,the staff were very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the lounge seating area with sea view.The full English Breakfast in the morning was very nice.

Spent Saturday night at the hotel over Easter. Being Easter most hotels were booked. So we booked into the Alexandria. The woman at reception was most helpful and friendly . I had asked for a high quiet room, which we were given. The breakfast was good and overall the stay was good. I think the price was a little expensive for a 2 star hotel.

I found this a most comfortable and friendly hotel in a lovely part of town. Ideal for walking and town. Room was clean and always plenty of teabags,coffee and milk topped up daily.

I booked this hotel on booking.com as a birthday treat for my wife.On arrival we were met by the manager, Winston, who looked after us and ensured that we were settled in. The building itself looks a little tired and in need of modernising, which probably accounts for its 2 star rating, but the attention and courtesy given to us by the staff was second to none. I could not expect to receive better treatment in a 5 star establishment.We will return next year!

The Alexandra is in a beautiful location on the seafront.We had a lovely light room overlooking the sea and the Wish Tower.The facilities were fairly basic and the WIFI intermittent but the service was very good and the english breakfast was delicious.Will stay again.

For a 2STAR Hotel this was a great Hotel.The breakfast room is big and very nice decorated with stunning views to the sea. Good choice
Alexandra was just what we wanted it to be. Double room and and shower room were fine and the requested sea view was lovely.Dining room and our breakfasts and dinners were enjoyable and the staff and service were excellent (thank you again). Parking outside the hotel is very good and very cheap but as the wardens are 'eagle eyed'do make sure you totally understand the system. We will be returning to this venue.

we have been staying at this hotel each year when attending a conference at the Congress theatre complex for at least 10 years. The new owners have lived up to the family run values we appreciate in a hotel.the food and accommodation is good value for money and it's location means we can get from hotel to conference in less than five minutes.We have booked again for the 2015 conference.

We have stayed there for a few years now and have always been made welcome. The hotel is convenient to The Congress Theatre etc where we are attending. The breakfast is good. The hotel itself needs a lot of work done on it but I am sure you are aware of it and some of our friends won't stay there anymore.

Situated right on the seafront in easy walking distance from the Station (for us anyway. We found the staff friendly and accomodation comfortable.

Alexandra Hotel
A large single room - they are usually "broom cupboards" - with the luxury of a sea view!Breakfast was fine - I can't eat a full English. The room was available from 1.00pm, nice and early compared with other b and b.Lift was very small, but that was the only criticism.I would certainly stay at the Alexandra Hotel again.

A very clean welcoming hotel. Very close to the town, the seafront, and Devonshire Park tennis. Would certainly try to go there again.

We throughly enjoyed our stay the room had a spectacular view out over the Sea was comfotable and the breakfast excelant as were the staff.

Delightful seafront hotel
My first time at this hotel - it is very comfortable. My single room had full sea view. Unusually today, it offers single rooms at single prices - and is very good value. The owners offer helpful and interesting advice, and the staff are very obliging. It is fully serviced and the all ensuite rooms include tea/coffee making as well as TV. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Great location
This is my second stay at the Alexandra and it is a great small hotel in a great location. On the seafront near theatres and downtown. It is independently run which gives it character. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner, and offers excellent food and beverage. For the price it cannot be beaten. The only slight drawbacks are that there is only one small lift, and the parking outside the hotel is metered seven days a week (but the hotel gives you vouchers which cost a pound a day).

I have stayed at the Alexandra before but with a group .....was a little nervous about staying alone for the first time anywhere but can I just say, there was no need .....made to feel welcome, room comfortable and breakfast great ......would thoroughly recommend the Alexandra ..... 20 out of 10 to my mind ...!
